Georgia High School Basketball - Westwood overwhelms Echols County
January 7, 2023: Camilla, GA 31730 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Westwood Wildcats (Camilla, GA) and the visiting Echols County Wildcats (Statenville, GA), saw Westwood's basketball squad wallop Echols County by a tally of 42-18.
With the victory, Westwood improves its record to 3-8 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Baker County (Newton, GA) to confront the Bears in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 13. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 0-2. Baker County lost 49-35 in their recent non-league challenge against Highland Christian Academy (Valdosta, GA)
Next up, the Wildcats confront the Clinch County Panthers (Homerville, GA) in a A D2 Region 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Echols County will attempt to improve on its 3-8 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 10-0 record after their 60-40 non-league win over Coffee (Douglas, GA).
