Mankato East Cougars (Mankato, MN) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Faribault Falcons (Faribault, MN), 66-26 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mankato East upgrades its record to 4-5 on the season. The Cougars host Mankato West (Mankato, MN) to play the Scarlets in a AAA Section 2 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Scarlets go into the bout with a record of 4-7. Mankato West won 49-38 in their recent non-league bout against John Marshall (Rochester, MN)

Next up, the Falcons play the Owatonna Huskies (Owatonna, MN) in a AAAA Section 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Faribault will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 2-9 record after their 69-39 league loss to Mayo (Rochester, MN).
