The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Merced Bears (Merced, CA) and the visiting Bear Creek Bruins (Stockton, CA), observed Merced's basketball team overcome Bear Creek by a score of 60-50.

The Bears (10-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Enochs (Modesto, CA). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 9-4 record. In their last challenge, Enochs dropped by McKinleyville (McKinleyville, CA), 69-59, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Bruins battle the Atwater Falcons (Atwater, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 8. Bear Creek will attempt to improve on its 8-6 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 16-1 record after their 55-54 non-league win over Tokay (Lodi, CA).
