Georgia High School Basketball - East Hall thwarts Monroe Area
January 7, 2025: Monroe, GA 30656 The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the East Hall Vikings (Gainesville, GA) and the host Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA), observed East Hall's basketball team knock off Monroe Area by a score of 74-63.
The Vikings (13-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Cherokee Bluff (Flowery Branch, GA). The Bears come into the AAA Region 8 challenge with a 16-1 record. In their last challenge, Cherokee Bluff prevailed over West Hall (Oakwood, GA), 67-35, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Purple Hurricanes encounter the Jefferson Dragons (Jefferson, GA) in a AAA Region 8 challenge, on Thursday, January 9. Monroe Area will attempt to improve on its 5-10 season record. The Dragons come into the challenge with a 10-4 record after their 62-59 league win over Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA).
