Mississippi High School Basketball - Shannon thwarts Mooreville
January 7, 2025: Shannon, MS 38868 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Shannon Red Raiders (Shannon, MS) and the visiting Mooreville Troopers (Mooreville, MS), observed Shannon's basketball team knock off Mooreville by a score of 68-56.
The Red Raiders (7-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Amory (Amory, MS). The Panthers come into the 4A Region 1 challenge with a 8-10 record. In their last challenge, Amory dropped by Tishomingo County (Iuka, MS), 60-34, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Troopers battle the East Webster Wolverines (Maben, MS) in a 3A Region 4 challenge, on Friday, January 10. Mooreville will attempt to improve on its 9-7 season record. The Wolverines come into the challenge with a 10-6 record after their 56-38 non-league win over J.Z. George (North Carrollton, MS).
