Georgia High School Basketball - Baker County can't hold off Sherwood Christian Academy
January 7, 2025: Newton, GA 39870 Sherwood Christian Academy Eagles (Albany, GA) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Baker County Bears (Newton, GA), 49-43 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Sherwood Christian Academy advances its record to 7-4 on the year. The Eagles travel to Southland Academy (Americus, GA) to face the Raiders in a GIAA AA Region 3 match on Friday, January 10. The Raiders enter the match with a record of 6-8. Southland Academy won 33-26 in their recent non-league match against Tiftarea Academy (Chula, GA)
The Bears now own a 0-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Stewart County for a A D2 Region 1 match on Saturday, January 18.
