In Tuesday's league test, the East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC) basketball squad trounced the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), by a score of 57-30.

Next, the Cavaliers clash with the Bunker Hill Bears (Claremont, NC) in a 2A Catawba Valley test, on Thursday, January 9. East Burke will attempt to improve on its 12-1 season record. The Bears come into the test with a 4-9 record after their 50-37 league win over West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC).

The Red Devils (9-2) will now prepare for their test against Hickory (Hickory, NC). The Red Tornadoes come into the non-league test with a 1-7 record. In their last test, Hickory was routed by St. Stephens (Hickory, NC), 61-46, in a league test.
