The Lawrence-Nelson Raiders basketball squad (Nelson, NE), was nudged 40-38 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the visiting McCool Junction Mustangs (McCool Junction, NE)

With the victory, McCool Junction advances its record to 5-5 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Meridian (Daykin, NE) to meet the Mustangs in a non-league battle on Thursday, January 9. The Mustangs enter the battle with a record of 3-6. Meridian won 41-25 in their recent league battle against Lewiston (Lewiston, NE)

The Raiders now own a 3-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Giltner for a D2 District 4 battle on Thursday, January 9. Lawrence-Nelson will meet a Hornets squad coming off a 58-19 non-league loss to Blue Hill (Blue Hill, NE). The Hornets record now stands at 1-7.
