South Carolina High School Basketball - Central nips Buford

January 8, 2024: Lancaster, SC 29720

Central Eagles (Pageland, SC) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Buford Yellowjackets (Lancaster, SC), 70-64 in a league bout.

With the victory, Central upgrades its record to 6-10 on the campaign. The Eagles host Andrew Jackson (Kershaw, SC) to play the Volunteers in a AA Region 5 bout on Friday, January 12. The Volunteers come into the bout with a record of 11-3. Andrew Jackson won 81-40 in their recent non-league bout against Wilson Hall (Sumter, SC)

Next up, the Yellowjackets play the York Prep Patriots (Rock Hill, SC) in a AA Region 5 bout, on Friday, January 12. Buford will attempt to upgrade on its 0-15 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 8-6 record after their 90-57 non-league loss to Westminster Catawba Christian (Rock Hill, SC).
