California High School Basketball - Rio Linda can't hold off Pioneer

The Pioneer Patriots basketball team scored 62 points and restricted the visiting Rio Linda Knights to 60 in the Patriots league victory on Monday.

The Patriots now sport a 8-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mesa Verde for a Golden Empire League contest on Wednesday, January 10. Pioneer will battle a Mavericks team coming off a 70-57 league loss to Casa Roble (Orangevale, CA). The Mavericks record now stands at 3-12.

The Knights (4-14) will now prepare for their contest against Mira Loma (Sacramento, CA). The Matadors come into the Golden Empire League contest with a 12-6 record. In their last contest, Mira Loma edged Woodland (Woodland, CA), 59-46, in a league contest.
