Connecticut High School Basketball - Newtown tops Brookfield
January 9, 2023: Newtown, CT 06482 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT) and the visiting Brookfield Bobcats (Brookfield, CT), saw Newtown's basketball squad knock off Brookfield by a tally of 52-42.
With the victory, Newtown improves its record to 4-3 on the campaign. The Nighthawks travel to Bethel (Bethel, CT) to play the Wildcats in a Southwest challenge on Thursday, January 12. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 2-5. Bethel lost 34-16 in their recent league challenge against Stratford (Stratford, CT)
Next up, the Bobcats play the Nonnewaug Chiefs (Woodbury, CT) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 11. Brookfield will attempt to improve on its 5-2 season record. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 62-39 league win over Thomaston (Thomaston, CT).
