January 30, 2023: Newtown, CT 06482 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Notre Dame Catholic Lancers (Fairfield, CT) and the host Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT), saw Notre Dame Catholic's basketball squad wallop Newtown by a tally of 66-40.
With the victory, Notre Dame Catholic improves its record to 13-2 on the campaign. The Lancers host Stratford (Stratford, CT) to confront the Red Devils in a Southwest challenge on Thursday, February 2. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a record of 5-9. Stratford won 40-34 in their recent league challenge against New Fairfield (New Fairfield, CT)
Next up, the Nighthawks confront the Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT) in a Southwest challenge, on Thursday, February 2. Newtown will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 5-9 record after their 75-48 league win over New Milford (New Milford, CT).
