The Grant Cougars basketball team (Dry Prong, LA), was overwhelmed 48-24 in Monday's non-league battle with the host Montgomery Tigers (Montgomery, LA)

The Tigers now possess a 11-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northwood for a 1A District 3 battle on Tuesday, January 10. Montgomery will battle a Gators team coming off a 55-35 non-league win over Bastrop (Bastrop, LA). The Gators record now stands at 8-3.

The Cougars (2-7) will now prepare for their battle against Franklin Parish (Winnsboro, LA). The Patriots come into the 4A District 2 battle with a 9-1 record. In their last battle, Franklin Parish trounced Union Parish (Farmerville, LA), 44-39, in a non-league battle.
