The La Vernia Bears basketball team scored 65 points and held the host Young Men's Leadership Academy to 59 in the Bears league triumph on Tuesday.

The Bears now sport a 23-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host John F. Kennedy for a 4A Region IV District 28 contest on Friday, January 12. La Vernia will battle a Rockets team coming off a 51-37 league win over Cuero (Cuero, TX). The Rockets record now stands at 15-13.

The (8-13) will now prepare for their contest against Gonzales (Gonzales, TX). The Apaches enter the 4A Region IV District 28 contest with a 4-18 record.
