January 9, 2024: Wessington Springs, SD 57382 Wessington Springs Spartans (Wessington Springs, SD) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans (Mt. Vernon, SD), 78-47 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Wessington Springs upgrades its record to 6-1 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Sunshine Bible Academy (Miller, SD) to play the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 13. The Crusaders come into the bout with a record of 2-5. Next up, the Titans play the Platte/Geddes Black Panthers (Platte, SD) in a A Region 5 bout, on Thursday, January 11. Mt. Vernon/Plankinton will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Black Panthers come into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 56-47 non-league win over Lower Brule (Lower Brule, SD).
