Illinois High School Basketball - Mt. Zion overwhelms Charleston
January 9, 2024: Charleston, IL 61920 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL) and the host Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL), saw Mt. Zion's basketball squad wallop Charleston by a tally of 61-28.
With the victory, Mt. Zion improves its record to 15-7 on the campaign. The Braves travel to Springfield (Springfield, IL) to play the Senators in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 11. The Senators come into the challenge with a record of 10-7. Springfield won 72-39 in their recent non-league challenge against Champaign Central (Champaign, IL)
Next up, the Trojans play the Taylorville Tornadoes (Taylorville, IL) in a Apollo challenge, on Friday, January 12. Charleston will attempt to improve on its 4-13 season record. The Tornadoes come into the challenge with a 16-3 record after their 54-41 league win over Effingham (Effingham, IL).
