January 9, 2025: Creole, LA 70643 The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Basile Bearcats (Basile, LA) and the host South Cameron Tarpons (Creole, LA), observed Basile's basketball team overwhelm South Cameron by a score of 60-15.
The Bearcats (7-20) will now prepare for their challenge against Rapides (Lecompte, LA). The Mustangs come into the non-league challenge with a 4-11 record. In their last challenge, Rapides was routed by Westminster Academy (Opelousas, LA), 61-41, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Tarpons battle the Johnson Bayou Rebels (Cameron, LA) in a C District 5 challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. South Cameron will attempt to improve on its 1-11 season record. The Rebels come into the challenge with a 7-16 record after their 81-38 non-league loss to Welsh (Welsh, LA).
