Mississippi High School Basketball - Calhoun Academy trounced by Delta Academy
January 9, 2025: Marks, MS 38646 Delta Academy Raiders (Marks, MS) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Calhoun Academy Cougars (Calhoun City, MS), 61-25 in a league match.
With the victory, Delta Academy advances its record to 4-2 on the year. The Raiders host Hernando (Hernando, MS) to meet the Tigers in a non-league match on Saturday, January 11. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 2-13. Hernando lost 53-45 in their recent league match against Southaven (Southaven, MS)
The Cougars now own a 4-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Marvell Academy for a MAIS 2A District 1 match on Tuesday, January 14. Calhoun Academy will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 47-36 league win over Calhoun Academy (Calhoun City, MS). The Eagles record now stands at 1-0.
