New Mexico High School Basketball - Highland can't hold off Rio Grande
January 9, 2025: Albuquerque, NM 87105 Rio Grande Ravens (Albuquerque, NM) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM), 49-45 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Rio Grande advances its record to 1-3 on the year. The Ravens host Manzano (Albuquerque, NM) to face the Monarchs in a non-league match on Friday, January 17. The Monarchs enter the match with a record of 1-4.
The Hornets now own a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bernalillo for a non-league match on Tuesday, January 14. Highland will face a Spartans squad coming off a 44-38 non-league loss to Gallup (Gallup, NM). The Spartans record now stands at 1-7.
