The Assumption Mustangs (Napoleonville, LA) basketball edged the host Covington Lions (Covington, LA), 44-38 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Mustangs now possess a 7-10 record. They play next when they host White Castle for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 14. Assumption will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 58-39 non-league win over Plaquemine (Plaquemine, LA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 14-9.

With the loss, Covington falls to 4-9 on the campaign. The Lions host Franklinton (Franklinton, LA) to play the Demons in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 14.
