The Washington Prexies basketball squad (Washington, PA), was nudged 57-50 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting McGuffey Highlanders (Claysville, PA)

With the victory, McGuffey advances its record to 8-4 on the year. The Highlanders host Carmichaels (Carmichaels, PA) to meet the Mighty Mikes in a non-league battle on Friday, January 17. The Mighty Mikes enter the battle with a record of 0-12.

The Prexies now own a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Keystone Oaks for a WPIAL 3A 3 battle on Monday, January 13. Washington will meet a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 48-33 league win over Waynesburg Central (Waynesburg, PA). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 8-1.
