The Howard Lions edged the visiting River Hill Hawks basketball team by a tally of 56-50 in Friday's league game.

The Lions now possess a 3-5 record. They play next when they travel to Glenelg for a Howard County game on Wednesday, January 14. Howard will confront a Gladiators team coming off a 59-53 league loss to Reservoir (Fulton, MD). The Gladiators record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, River Hill falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The Hawks host Laurel (Laurel, MD) to clash with the Spartans in a non-league outing on Monday, January 12.
