Spectators at Thursday's non-league contest between the Northwest Vikings (Grand Island, NE) and the host Aurora Huskies (Aurora, NE), saw Northwest's softball squad nip Aurora by a score of 9-7.

With the triumph, Northwest improves its record to 23-2 on the year. The Vikings travel to Crete (Crete, NE) to face the Cardinals in a non-league contest on Thursday, October 2. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 22-5. Crete won 12-3 in their recent non-league bout against Gross Catholic (Omaha, NE)

In their next game, the Huskies battle the Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders (Grand Island, NE) in a B District 8 bout, on Monday, October 6. Aurora will attempt to better on its 11-11 season record. The Crusaders go into the bout with a 11-10 record after their 6-5 non-league win over Wahoo (Wahoo, NE).
