In Saturday's non-league test, the Northwest Vikings (Grand Island, NE) softball squad overwhelmed the host Aurora Huskies (Aurora, NE), by a tally of 9-1.

Next, the Vikings clash with the Kearney Bearcats (Kearney, NE) in a non-league test, on Saturday, September 6. Northwest will attempt to advance on its 8-2 season record. The Bearcats go into the test with a 9-3 record after their 16-1 league win over Lincoln High (Lincoln, NE).

The Huskies (4-4) will now prepare for their outing against Cozad (Cozad, NE). The Haymakers come into the non-league outing with a 6-5 record. In their last outing, Cozad beat Highway 6 (Holdrege, NE), 23-7, in a non-league outing.
