Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA) and the visiting Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA), observed Grayson County's volleyball team hold off Bland County by a count of 3-2.

With the win, Grayson County improves its record to 11-3 on the season. The Blue Devils travel to Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA) to encounter the Pioneers in a Mountain Empire battle on Tuesday, October 7. The Pioneers go into the battle with a record of 4-10. Fort Chiswell lost 3-0 in their recent league battle against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA)
