In Thursday's league challenge, the host River Islands Riptide volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Venture Academy Mustangs.

The Riptide (5-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Turlock Christian (Turlock, CA). The Eagles come into the Central California Athletic Alliance challenge with a 4-12 record. In their last challenge, Turlock Christian was nudged by Ben Holt College Prep Academy (Stockton, CA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs meet the Aspire Langston Hughes Academy Titans (Stockton, CA) in a Central California Athletic Alliance challenge, on Tuesday, October 8. Venture Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Titans come into the challenge with a 0-4 record after their 3-0 league loss to Millennium (Tracy, CA).
