Porter Spartans (Porter, TX) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the visiting Fort Bend Kempner Cougars (Sugar Land, TX), 27-6 in a league match.

The Spartans (3-2) will now prepare for their match against Pasadena (Pasadena, TX). The Eagles enter the 5A-1 Region III District 11 match with a 1-4 record. In their last match, Pasadena was beaten by Angleton (Angleton, TX), 68-0, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Cougars confront the La Porte Bulldogs (La Porte, TX) in a 5A-1 Region III District 11 battle, on Friday, October 10. Fort Bend Kempner will attempt to advance on its 3-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the battle with a 4-1 record after their 42-16 league win over Kingwood Park (Kingwood, TX).
