In Friday's non-league game, the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) football team smashed the visiting Lake Norman Charter Knights (Huntersville, NC), by a score of 57-20.

The Comets (5-2) will now prepare for their game against South Stanly (Norwood, NC). The Rowdy Rebel Bulls come into the 1A/2A Yadkin Valley game with a 4-3 record. In their last game, South Stanly overwhelmed Albemarle (Albemarle, NC), 26-12, in a league game.

The Knights now sport a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Union Academy for a non-league game on Friday, October 13. Lake Norman Charter will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 55-7 league loss to Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 1-6.
