In Saturday's non-league contest, the Mormon Trail Saints (Garden Grove, IA) volleyball squad edged the host East Union Eagles (Afton, IA), by a margin of 2-1.

Next up, the Saints battle the Twin Cedars Sabers (Bussey, IA) in a Bluegrass contest, on Tuesday, October 10. Mormon Trail will attempt to better on its 13-2 season record. The Sabers come into the contest with a 10-13 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Meskwaki Settlement (Tama, IA).

With the loss, East Union drops to 6-16 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Central Decatur (Leon, IA) to battle the Cardinals in a Pride of Iowa contest on Saturday, October 7.
