October 9, 2023: Hazlehurst, GA 31539 The Jeff Davis Yellowjackets routed the visiting Wayne County Yellow Jackets softball squad by a count of 8-1 in Monday's non-league battle.
The Yellowjackets (22-3) will now prepare for their battle against Fitzgerald (Fitzgerald, GA). The Purple Hurricane go into the 2A Region 1 battle with a 3-18 record. In their last battle, Fitzgerald was routed by Berrien (Nashville, GA), 17-9, in a league battle.
The Yellow Jackets now sport a 17-8 record. They play next when they host Glynn Academy for a non-league battle on Tuesday, October 10. Wayne County will meet a Terrors squad coming off a 10-2 league loss to Lakeside (Evans, GA). The Terrors record now stands at 11-14.
