The Independence Knights thwarted the host Denton Broncos football team by a count of 44-21 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Independence upgrades its record to 2-3 on the season. The Knights host Wakeland (Frisco, TX) to encounter the Wolverines in a 5A-1 Region II District 5 outing on Thursday, October 7. The Wolverines go into the outing with a record of 4-1. Wakeland won 56-28 in their recent league outing against Heritage (Frisco, TX)

With the loss, Denton moves to 1-5 on the season. The Broncos travel to Lone Star (Frisco, TX) to encounter the Rangers in a 5A-1 Region II District 5 outing on Friday, October 8. The Rangers go into the outing with a record of 4-1. Lone Star won 42-6 in their recent league outing against Reedy (Frisco, TX)
