October 1, 2021: Otis, CO 80743 The Otis Bulldogs volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the visiting Arickaree/Woodlin Indians to 1 in the Bulldogs league victory on Friday.
The Bulldogs now have a 5-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Flagler for a non-league game on Tuesday, October 5. Otis will confront a Panthers team coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Granada (Granada, CO). The Panthers record now stands at 6-8.
The Indians (5-10) will now prepare for their game against Bethune (Bethune, CO). The Bobcats enter the 1A YWKC game with a 1-6 record. In their last game, Bethune dropped by Lone Star (Otis, CO), 3-0, in a league game.
Match Summary
AW came out fired up on Friday night to take set one. Then it was up and down for AW and back and forth the rest of the match. Outside freshman Raeya Schrock let the offensive attack with 15 kills, with senior Joslyn King following closely with 13. The team scored 8 aces in the match, with sophomore Lilly Monat carding 3 for herself, and King adding another 3. Senior Tori Arfsten had a good night defensively at the net with 3 solo stuff blocks and an assisted stuff, with junior Cora Schrock adding one solo and 2 assisted, and sophomore Julisa Quinteros adding one of each to her resume. Scrappy defense led to 5 Indian-Mustangs digging up more than 10 digs each, with King leading the way with 17 digs. Raeya Schrock took the majority of the serves on receive with 28 receptions. AW looks to bounce back on track as they face Bethune in a home match on Tuesday.
