Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Patriots confront the Garinger Wildcats (Charlotte, NC) in a Southwestern 4A challenge, on Tuesday, October 11. Independence will attempt to better on its 7-6 season record. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a 13-4 record after their 6-1 league win over East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC).

The Bulldogs now have a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they host East Mecklenburg for a Southwestern 4A challenge on Tuesday, October 11. Butler will confront a Eagles team coming off a 6-1 league loss to Garinger (Charlotte, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 5-7.
