North Carolina High School Football - Alexander Central sneaks past McDowell
October 10, 2025: Marion, NC 28752 The Alexander Central Cougars football squad scored 30 points and limited the host McDowell Titans to 28 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.
The Cougars now sport a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Watauga for a Northwestern 6A/7A challenge on Friday, October 17. Alexander Central will face a Pioneers team coming off a 56-0 league win over South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 7-0.
The Titans (5-2) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Stephens (Hickory, NC). The Indians enter the Northwestern 6A/7A test with a 3-4 record. In their last test, St. Stephens was nipped by Freedom (Morganton, NC), 28-21, in a league test.
