North Carolina High School Football - McDowell overwhelmed by Watauga

October 24, 2025: Boone, NC 28607

In Friday's league game, the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) football team triumphed over the visiting McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), by a tally of 55-21.

Next, the Pioneers clash with the St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC) in a Northwestern 6A/7A outing, on Friday, October 31. Watauga will attempt to move on its 9-0 season record. The Indians come into the outing with a 5-4 record after their 48-2 league win over South Caldwell (Hudson, NC).

With the defeat, McDowell drops to 5-4 on the campaign. The Titans travel to Freedom (Morganton, NC) to clash with the Patriots in a Northwestern 6A/7A outing on Friday, October 31. The Patriots come into the outing with a record of 8-1. Freedom won 42-0 in their recent league outing against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)
