Spectators at Friday's league bout between the Plantation Colonels (Plantation, FL) and the host Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks (Fort Lauderdale, FL), saw Plantation's football team nip Archbishop McCarthy by a final score of 28-27.

With the win, Plantation advances its record to 4-3 on the season. The Colonels host Blanche Ely (Pompano Beach, FL) to encounter the Tigers in a non-league bout on Friday, October 17. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 3-3.

The Mavericks now own a 5-2 record. They play next when they host American Heritage for a 4A District 15 contest on Friday, October 17. Archbishop McCarthy will confront a Patriots squad coming off a 42-21 league win over Norland (Miami, FL). The Patriots record now stands at 4-3.
