October 10, 2025: Drew, MS 38737 The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Delta Streets Academy Lions (Greenwood, MS) and the host North Sunflower Academy Rebels (Drew, MS), witnessed Delta Streets Academy's football squad wallop North Sunflower Academy by a count of 74-38.
The Lions (3-5) will now prepare for their battle against DeSoto (West Helena, AR). The Thunderbirds go into the non-league battle with a 6-2 record. In their last battle, DeSoto walloped Delta Academy (Marks, MS), 48-0, in a non-league battle.
The Rebels now own a 1-6 record. They play next when they travel to Deer Creek for a MAIS 8-Man 1A District 1 (8 Man) battle on Friday, October 17. North Sunflower Academy will play a Warriors team coming off a 50-30 non-league loss to Briarfield Academy (Lake Providence, LA). The Warriors record now stands at 5-3.
