In Friday's non-league game, the DeSoto Thunderbirds (West Helena, AR) football team triumphed over the host Delta Streets Academy Lions (Greenwood, MS), by a tally of 54-22.

In their next game, the Thunderbirds battle the Marvell Academy Eagles (Marvell, AR) in a MAIS 8-Man 2A District 5 (8 Man) game, on Friday, October 24. DeSoto will attempt to better on its 7-2 season record.
