In Friday's league outing, the Palo Duro Dons (Amarillo, TX) football squad tipped the visiting Wylie Bulldogs (Abilene, TX), by a margin of 42-35.

The Dons now sport a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lubbock-Cooper for a 5A-2 Region I District 2 outing on Friday, October 17. Palo Duro will clash with a Pirates squad coming off a 66-16 league loss to Cooper (Abilene, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 4-3.

With the defeat, Wylie drops to 4-3 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Memorial (Wichita Falls, TX) to clash with the Mavericks in a 5A-2 Region I District 2 outing on Friday, October 17. The Mavericks come into the outing with a record of 4-2. Memorial lost 48-6 in their recent league contest against Palo Duro (Amarillo, TX)
