In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Northview Vikings volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Irvine Vaqueros.

The Vikings (20-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Malibu (Malibu, CA). The Sharks go into the non-league test with a 12-11 record. In their last test, Malibu nudged Hueneme (Oxnard, CA), 3-1, in a league test.

The Vaqueros now sport a 5-17 record. They put it on the line next when they host Tustin for a non-league test on Saturday, October 11. Irvine will face a Tillers squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Costa Mesa (Costa Mesa, CA). The Tillers record now stands at 10-16.
