In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Powers Catholic Chargers volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Ovid-Elsie Marauders.

The Chargers (5-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, MI). The Oilers enter the Saginaw Valley challenge with a 17-13 record. In their last challenge, Mt. Pleasant got by Lapeer (Lapeer, MI), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Marauders meet the Durand Railroaders (Durand, MI) in a Mid-Michigan Athletic challenge, on Tuesday, October 15. Ovid-Elsie will attempt to upgrade on its 14-12 season record.
