October 13, 2023: Burnsville, NC 28714 The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) and the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), observed Mountain Heritage's football squad defeat Mitchell by a count of 28-14.
The Cougars now own a 6-2 record. They play next when they travel to Madison for a Western Highlands 1A/2A contest on Friday, October 20. Mountain Heritage will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 40-21 league win over Avery County (Newland, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 2-6.
