The Mountain Island Charter Raptors soccer team (Mt. Holly, NC), was overwhelmed 6-1 in Wednesday's league match with the visiting Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC)

With the triumph, Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy upgrades its record to 17-1 on the season. The Gryphons travel to Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC) to battle the Stallions in a Catawba River 1A/2A/3A battle on Monday, October 20. The Stallions enter the battle with a record of 8-11. Queen's Grant lost 7-0 in their recent non-league battle against Union Academy (Monroe, NC)

Next up, the Raptors battle the NCSSM: Morganton Dragons (Morganton, NC) in a Catawba River 1A/2A/3A battle, on Monday, October 20. Mountain Island Charter will attempt to upgrade on its 11-5 season record. The Dragons enter the battle with a 8-6 record after their 6-1 league loss to Piedmont Community Charter (Gastonia, NC).
