The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Carencro Bears (Lafayette, LA) and the host Sam Houston Broncos (Lake Charles, LA), witnessed Carencro's football squad wallop Sam Houston by a final score of 65-21.

With the win, Carencro advances its record to 5-2 on the season. The Bears travel to Sulphur (Sulphur, LA) to encounter the Golden Tors in a 5A District 3 bout on Thursday, October 23. The Golden Tors go into the bout with a record of 2-5. Sulphur lost 63-17 in their recent league bout against Southside (Youngsville, LA)

The Broncos now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to New Iberia for a 5A District 3 bout on Friday, October 24. Sam Houston will encounter a Yellowjackets team coming off a 49-0 league loss to Barbe (Lake Charles, LA). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 0-7.
