In Thursday's league game, the Southside Sharks (Youngsville, LA) football team were victorious over the visiting Sam Houston Broncos (Lake Charles, LA), by a tally of 52-28.

In their next game, the Sharks face the Sulphur Golden Tors (Sulphur, LA) in a 5A District 3 outing, on Friday, October 17. Southside will attempt to move on its 5-1 season record. The Golden Tors come into the outing with a 2-4 record after their 44-41 league win over New Iberia (New Iberia, LA).
