In Friday's league game, the Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) football team edged the host East Lincoln Mustangs (Denver, NC), by a score of 31-28.

In their next game, the Red Tornadoes face the Bandys Trojans (Catawba, NC) in a Western Foothills 4A/5A outing, on Friday, October 31. Hickory will attempt to move on its 8-1 season record.

With the defeat, East Lincoln drops to 8-1 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Maiden (Maiden, NC) to clash with the Blue Devils in a Western Foothills 4A/5A outing on Friday, October 24. The Blue Devils come into the outing with a record of 6-2. Maiden won 41-34 in their recent league game against Bandys (Catawba, NC)
