The Rainier Columbians football team (Rainier, OR), was crushed 62-22 in Friday's league bout with the host Gaston Greyhounds (Gaston, OR)

With the win, Gaston advances its record to 4-3 on the season. The Greyhounds travel to Nestucca (Cloverdale, OR) to battle the Bobcats in a 2A Special District 1 (9 Man) contest on Friday, October 24. The Bobcats enter the contest with a record of 5-2. Nestucca lost 48-6 in their recent league contest against Knappa (Astoria, OR)

Coming up next, the Columbians battle the Vernonia Loggers (Vernonia, OR) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, October 23. Rainier will attempt to better on its 2-5 season record. The Loggers enter the contest with a 0-7 record after their 50-6 league loss to Nestucca (Cloverdale, OR).
