New York High School Football - Akron thwarted by Alden
October 18, 2024: Akron, NY 14001 Alden Bulldogs (Alden, NY) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Akron Tigers (Akron, NY), 42-26 in a league battle.
With the win, Alden advances its record to 6-1 on the season. The Bulldogs host Cleveland Hill (Cheektowaga, NY) to play the Golden Eagles in a Section 6 C - North battle on Friday, October 25. The Golden Eagles go into the battle with a record of 4-3. Cleveland Hill lost 7-6 in their recent league battle against Newfane (Newfane, NY)
The Tigers now own a 3-4 record. They play next when they travel to Wilson for a non-league battle on Saturday, October 26. Akron will play a Lakemen team coming off a 15-7 league loss to Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama (Clymer, NY). The Lakemen record now stands at 1-6.
