North Carolina High School Soccer - Thomas Jefferson nudges Burns
October 18, 2024: Lawndale, NC 28090 Fans at Friday's league battle between the Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) and the host Burns Bulldogs (Lawndale, NC), saw Thomas Jefferson's soccer squad hold off Burns by a count of 1-0.
The Gryphons (14-3) will now prepare for their battle against Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC). The Yellow Jackets enter the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A battle with a 3-11 record. In their last battle, Bessemer City was edged by Shelby (Shelby, NC), 5-1, in a league battle.
Next up, the Bulldogs confront the Highland Tech Rams (Gastonia, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A battle, on Monday, October 21. Burns will attempt to upgrade on its 11-4 season record. The Rams enter the battle with a 12-1 record after their 6-0 league win over East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC).
