October 19, 2023: Lenoir, NC 28645 The Alexander Central Cougars football team (Taylorsville, NC), was tipped 32-31 in Thursday's league challenge with the host Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC)
The Panthers (4-5) will now prepare for their challenge against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans come into the Northwestern 3A/4A challenge with a 3-6 record. In their last challenge, South Caldwell was tipped by Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 13-6, in a league challenge.
The Cougars now sport a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they host Freedom for a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Friday, October 27. Alexander Central will meet a Patriots team coming off a 54-48 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 3-6.
